Almacén El Gallo at 500 West 7th Street in the First on 7th building is one of Fort Worth's most compelling new restaurant openings — a contemporary Mexican interior restaurant from founders Adrian Burciaga and Martin Quirarte, built around their childhood memories of Mexico's neighborhood fondas and old cantinas. The culinary vision comes from Chef Rodrigo Rivera Río, co-founder of KOLI Cocina de Origen, a two-time Michelin-starred restaurant in Mexico with nominations on Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants. His menu philosophy is rooted in doing well what has always been done well in Mexico: grilled meats, barbacoa, moles, adobos, stews, and broths that speak of regions and tradition rather than trend. The interior is designed by Mérida-based architect Carlos Núñez, with murals and La Lotería-inspired popular art by illustrator Fernando R. Cervantes bringing warmth and Mexican cultural identity to the room. The space accommodates private dining for up to 30 guests and is positioned as a lunch destination for downtown professionals and a relaxed, intentional dinner experience at night.
