NOW OPEN.
J. Rae's Bakery at 3330 W. 7th Street is a Fort Worth homecoming story. Jana Howell founded J. Rae's in Fort Worth in 2008, and the bakery quickly became the city's go-to for thick, beautifully hand-decorated sugar cookies, cupcakes, cheesecakes, and homemade desserts — the kind of place that supplied bridal showers, birthday parties, and office celebrations for years before the original Foch Street location closed. Howell's niece Audrey Dixon kept the family business alive by opening a Dallas location in 2021, where Fort Worth fans made the drive east rather than give up their sugar cookie fix. Now Dixon is bringing it back home. The new 1,700-square-foot West 7th shop features the bakery's signature black-and-white stripes and hot pink accents alongside a menu of decorated sugar cookies, cupcakes, cheesecakes, cake balls in red velvet, funfetti, and lemon, cookie cakes, and classic cookies in chocolate chip, oatmeal chocolate chip, and peanut butter. Seasonal treats and custom orders for birthdays, weddings, and events round out the program. Flavor first, decoration always. Open Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
