La Pistola Kitchen + Saloon is coming to 1812 Montgomery Street in September 2026, taking over the former Taco Heads space across from Dickies Arena and bringing a concept that blends old-world Italian hospitality with the spirit of the American West. The team behind it — Jeffrey Yarbrough, who has 40-plus years of Texas hospitality experience and co-founded Teddy Wongs, and Camille McDonald, a TCU grad turned Napa Valley winemaker and restaurant consultant — describe their inspiration as the resilient heroines of 1970s Spaghetti Westerns, which tells you something about the room they're building. The format is designed for all occasions: lunch after tennis, rosé with friends before a show at the Arena, a business lunch, a date night over pasta. Lunch will feature Italian and chef-driven sandwiches, salads, and light plates. Dinner goes deeper with house-made pastas, veal parmesan, seafood, chicken, steaks, and coastal Mediterranean-inspired sides. The cocktail program is Italian-inspired and approachable — the She's a Pistol Whiskey Sour with Italian hot honey and a $5 Rosé All Day are the early signatures. The wine list is built in the same spirit as the one Yarbrough and McDonald created for Teddy Wongs: well-curated and without pretension. Montgomery Avenue is one of Fort Worth's fastest-growing hospitality corridors, and this is one of the more compelling concepts to land on it.
