Pine Isle at 3005 S. University Drive is a Hawaiian-inspired restaurant from Kevin Singharaj, who built the original Pine Isle in Dallas in 2025 into a foodie favorite before bringing it west to Fort Worth. Singharaj once lived in Hawaii and brings a personal, quality-first approach to the food — the kind of operation that earns a following through the cooking before the marketing ever catches up. The menu is built around the Hawaiian plate lunch: a protein served with steamed rice and mac salad, in the tradition that has made it one of the most satisfying comfort food formats around. Proteins include Kalua pork with cabbage, teriyaki beef, garlic shrimp, miso chicken, chicken katsu, fried chicken, and kalbi Korean barbecued beef ribs. Spam musubi — the beloved Hawaiian snack of seasoned Spam on a block of rice wrapped in nori — comes in classic, spicy, and fried variations. Loco moco with a beef patty, sunny-side egg, and brown gravy on steamed rice, tuna poke bowls, poke nachos, hamachi, ahi tuna tataki, and garlic kimchi fries round out the menu. The Fort Worth location is the first with indoor seating and an outdoor patio, making it a more complete dining experience than the Dallas takeout-focused original.
