Shōgun Taqueria at 1508 West Magnolia Avenue is Chef Francisco “Paco” Islas’ Mexican-Japanese fusion restaurant in Fort Worth’s Near Southside. The restaurant replaced his former Paco’s Mexican Cuisine location and combines Mexican ingredients and preparations with ramen, dumplings, bao, karaage, and other Japanese influences. Current dishes include birria ramen, chicken tinga dumplings, lo mein, and fusion tacos, with cocktails served in the dining room. The adjacent Secreto Speakeasy has its own bar program. Best for a creative dinner on Magnolia Avenue; reservations are useful on weekends.
