Vonte's Philly Cheesesteaks is the Fort Worth operation from Davonte Fung, a west Philadelphia native who moved to Fort Worth in 2023, missed real cheesesteaks, and decided to build the answer himself. The menu is tight and intentional: three sandwiches, all served on authentic Amoroso rolls imported from Philadelphia — the Philly, the Broad Street Philly with mushrooms and Cheez Whiz, and Vonte's Favorite with shaved ribeye, fried onions, hot peppers, melted provolone, mayo, and ketchup. Fried Philly cheesesteak egg rolls with steak or chicken are the standout side, alongside loaded steak-and-cheese fries and crinkle-cut sweet potato waffle fries. Davonte started at The Local on Bledsoe Street as a food truck proving ground and built a 10,000-follower following before moving into a permanent brick-and-mortar in the Near Southside. The sandwiches are the real thing.
